Regarding tomorrow’s release of iOS 8

Apple is scheduled to release iOS 8 tomorrow, so here are a few things to consider.

As TidBITS suggests, you probably shouldn’t upgrade to iCloud Drive yet if you rely on apps that sync data between iOS and OS X devices, and you may want to turn off automatic iOS app updates until the dust settles.

Also, you probably already know to back up, but here’s a Macworld post you can share with others. Note that for iTunes backups, it’s best to select ‘encrypt local backup’ to insure that (most) passwords are saved.

Finally, it may be worth reviewing Apple’s list of what’s new in iOS 8. MacRumors also has a nice collection of iOS 8 features.
