Greg Sterling's interpretation of a recent report by Chitika, as posted on Marketing Land:
Across both mobile web and apps Apple generates majority of traffic.
A few notes. First, this is for North America. Second, Chitika actually shows Apple's web traffic at 52.5% and its app traffic 46.0%. Greg blends Chitika's data with US smartphone marketshare data from comScore to come to the above conclusion. I'm not sure that's the best method, and he admits that it "may not be statistically kosher" (I reckon it's good enough for a rough estimate). Finally, it appears that this is smartphone only. If tablet data was included, Apple's numbers would likely be even higher.
