A visit to Apple’s new headquarters

KQED Science reporter Amy Standen got a rare tour of Apple’s new headquarters. A short story about her tour was posted a couple of weeks ago. Today, KQED ran her full story (article and radio feature). When pushed on why the large amount of open space at the campus won't be open to the community, Lisa Jackson, Apple’s VP of Environmental Initiatives, stated:

This isn’t an office building. This is an R&D facility. Think of a national lab. Think of NASA. That’s the level of work that’s happening here.
