When pushed on why the large amount of open space at the campus won't be open to the community, Lisa Jackson, Apple’s VP of Environmental Initiatives, stated:
This isn’t an office building. This is an R&D facility. Think of a national lab. Think of NASA. That’s the level of work that’s happening here.
